Tiffany Seidel
Tiffany Seidel wanted a French Provincial-style kitchen for her 1930s Meadows home. The old one hadn’t been updated since the 1970s, and she needed a thoughtful designer to make the most of the limited space available.
She met with several kitchen designers but was most impressed with John Herbut from Balhannah Kitchens By Design.
“We got the feeling that he knew what he was doing,” Tiffany says. “He came across as very professional.”
Tiffany was also impressed by John’s itemized quote that included all of the associated trades. “We didn’t get that from any of the others.
It gave us confidence, instead of a figure they just pulled out of nowhere,” she says. The real world has a habit of disrupting the bestlaid plans, and the eighty-year-old house had its own ideas. When it came time to install the rangehood, it was discovered that the ceiling panel inside the old chimney concealed a solid concrete slab. “All my new cabinets and appliances were in and they needed to bring in a jackhammer and knock out a massive lump of concrete,” says Tiffany. “It was one of those things—unforeseen, but not unexpected. They dealt with it on the spot.”
Tiffany couldn’t be happier with her new kitchen. “It’s exactly how I wanted it, exactly how I pictured it. I just love being in here. But all this cooking’s not so good for my waistline.” Tiffany is happy to recommend John Herbut from Balhannah Kitchens By Design to anyone considering a new kitchen. “Thank you John,” she says. “I love it!
