Steve and Kelly wanted a kitchen that was more conducive to their social lifestyle. The old one was completely isolated from the other areas of the house and they needed a designer who could open it up into spacious and comfortable living area.
John Herbut from Balhannah Kitchens By Design had previously renovated Kelly’s mum’s kitchen, so they knew that he could be relied upon to fulfil their vision.
“I was very impressed with the transformation of mum’s kitchen” said Kelly “I couldn’t wait to see what he could do with ours”.
Kelly ideally wanted to achieve an open plan that would allow her to watch TV or to engage with others in the living rooms whilst preparing meals. “We knew this was a big ask, but John stepped up to the task, creating several great potential concepts for us to choose from” said Kelly.
The final model that the pair fell in love with saw the dividing wall taken down and replaced with an open plan design, including an angled island unit with oven, cook top and glass canopy.
Steve was very pleased with John’s complete fixedprice itemized quote. “It made it very easy to see where the money was spent and a piece of mind knowing the sub-trades wouldn’t blow out. The whole project went very smoothly”.
